Thoughts of a Floating-Mind

Surfacing thoughts in a floating mind

I am always looking for something different to try or do. There are so many things going on in this world, that you should never become bored.

Writing is something that is a bit new to me. I do not write often, but I do not stop writing either. In looking for something new to try, poetry seems like it would be nice if I could do it. So, I figured I would give it a chance, seeing if its something that I would like or not.

After all, you will not know if you like it, if you do not try it. I have not tried my hand, nor brain, at acrostic poetry before, so I thought I would start there first; by creating an acrostic poem using my user name … floating mind!

The Acrostic Poem

Floating Mind is free of constraints,

Lifting the spirit of mind at this place.

Overtures expound with simple glee,

As all I hope is for someone to read me.

Timing is not needed here,

In completing the process, using words to speak clear,

Never embarrassed, shy, nor do I stop,

Giving my prose, (which are) the words of my thoughts.

Mending the rift between reality and dreams,

I realize it just my way it seems,

Not stuck within one area or group;

Dance at my party, (which is) my prose, as my mind ... floats.

To any others out there that are wondering if you can write or not, I would say, give it a try. Be it poetry, or story telling, or creating tutorials, … the only way you are going to see if you can do it, is to just do it!

As for poetry, it does not matter if you have never tried to write a poem or not. Just give it a try. Who knows, you just may find that you like writing poems. Here is an idea and a simple challenge for you. Create an acrostic poem using your user name. You just may have fun doing it. And, you can use it to then enter the poem into any poem contest that you are aware of. Like the one here … at Hubpages.com! Good Luck!

Lovely and free spirited.

Thanks Lady_E.

I'm working my way up, trying to create something new at least every other day with my writings. I'll get there. I'm just having fun along the way, with life, my college studies, and experiencing life with my friends; both near and far.

wonderful poetry ;)

Poetry is liberating

Opens your hearts and hands

Enriching readers who felt connected

Teaching them the way you see life

Reaching out from deep within

Yearning to communicate ... the inadmissible

Here's another hubpage which you might like ;) someone who loves writing her thoughts here and in a unique style of her own. I find her thoughts sounding like an orchestra, each thought performed by a particular instrument, each melody a standalone, then an accompaniment, a duet, a quartet.... each piece of music will end in the way she intended it to be...
