Till The Day I Die
I cherish her dearly
For she has watched over me
Since the morning I first awoke
And still to this day
She is faithfully there
Waving to me as I drive by
Dressed in her pretty
Red and white striped skirt
And stars in her blue eyes…
She is a little under the weather today
For the heavens are clouded and gray overcast
And though she is feeling low
It’s because she is flying half mast
I know she will be true
Till I take my last breath
And at the last she will be there
Folded in the lap of my wife
The one to whom I said
Till death do us part…I do
And to you, Old Glory, I say
Till the day I die
I salute you
