Time to stop pretending

Remember those perfect days.

Love was so fresh just like when I stepped off that plane.

Our hearts seemed to become one.

Where have those days gone.

Here we are now pretending to be something we are not.

I might not be the girl for you.

You could do a lot better.

But she won't love you do.

You hung the moon and stars to me.

But I am just me to you.

Nothing special.

I do not have the model look.

I don't have money to give.

But if she can give everything you want.

Just forget about me.

Do not lead me any farther.

You know I will follow.

I love you no matter what and I want you to be happy.

So if she is better so be It.

Just as long as your not pretending.

Sad, but so full of feelings. I could feel your pain. Oh, love is not always fair is it? We sometimes are blinded by the ones we choose, when in reality... perhaps we are better off without the one who hurts us. Thanks for sharing. Voted up and awesome.

Great poem, and so heart-felt too. This is very honest and open and I love it. You are a fearless writer, chrissie. I so enjoy your poetry. Cheers.

Really mature quality..good point about how outside beauty and $$ are not what make love valuable.
