I Longed to Touch Your Flesh........

I saw you standing there on the edge of the water
the wind softly lifting your long blond hair
And I wondered who belonged to your spirited
heart ......what lucky man was there

Gently as if no one was looking you spun
around slowly ....a graceful spin
You must have been a dancer once
there is always that grace within

A body well taken care of ......of course...
of which man can only wonder
Perhaps the slender side of a runner
a driven soul down under

Slowly you moved as if there was no other
around to see this magical dance
Should I go over and offer a hand
a lead ......take a quiet chance

No ....but I could only watch.......as you
waded into the water you found
Basking in purity....you bathed
while I watched .....spellbound

And then ....some spirit touched you
for you turned and looked right at me
What ......you slowly lifted free of the
water and moved away free

And for just a moment ....our eyes locked
my heart jumped .....I was smitten
Would my wantings have a chance.......for a dream
longings answered .....is this written

And just before you got to me .....you turned
away and wandered off so slow
My heart ....inside was melting now ...I knew
it's to good to be true and so

I put the offering back in myside my heart
and of course
That's what I get for acting so selfishly
and trying to feed a horse

What a golden beauty she is, I'm certain Roy was watching to as she swung her mane to and fro and danced and spun like days of old. I can see her now, walking the beach with muscles glistening in the sun. I loved this poem, you caught her magic.

You aren't the first to have your heart captured by a flighty filly. Perhaps she didn't want to be bridled because of a sweet temptation.

I stand and watch with a smile.
