Together Through the Years

Another Valentine’s

and it had been so very fine

to have him beside her

all these 30 years

For 30 years

she had been his

and it still made him smile

when she cried with every Valentine

Together they’d weathered

so many storms

never one without the other

always holding on tight

Their love had begun

right from the start

when she smiled at him

he lost his heart

She was so happy

to have him beside her

he was so very strong

when the bad winds blew

Friends always asked them

what their secret was

but they told them

that it was simply magic

The kind of magic

that comes along

perhaps once in a lifetime

a love so very fine

Looking at each other

they only saw what once was

both still so young

all through the years
