Here is a current list of the top 10 best selling ebooks on the market today.

A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard

A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard

#1 best selling ebook

A Stolen Life is the title of the memoirs of Jaycee Dugard who you may have read about on the news. Jaycee was the little girl kidnapped and detained against her will for an incredible 18 years, during which time she became a sex slave for perverted Phillip Garrido and his equally perverted wife.

Just 11 years old at the time of her abduction, read how Jaycee survived by remembering the good times with her Mom and you can't help but admire the depth of inner strength that this girl/young woman showed and continues to show today.

Released from her urban Hell in 2009 (she was detained a back garden shed for all those years and neighbors noticed nothing), she now has a new life to rebuild with her two daughters (born from her forced sexual entrapment to Phillip Garrido).

Parts of the proceeds of this books will be directed to the J A Y C Foundation, set up by Jaycee, so offer support to victims of abduction.

A Dance With Dragons by George R R Martin

#2 best selling ebook

A Dance With Dragons is the 5th book in the series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R R Martin.

Set in an "other world", A Song of Ice and Fire is an epic classic up there with J R Tolkein's "Lord of The Rings", and follows the fortunes and wars of the Seven Kingdoms.

A mix of the historical with kings and queens and fights to the death amid old castle walls with the magical and unreal, A Song of Fire and Ice has captured the public imagination.

The complete series up to date includes books 1 to 5. The full series is planned to stretch to seven books, but two are as yet unwritten.

The Help, by Kathryn Stockett

The Help, by Kathryn Stockett

#3 best selling ebook

Set in Mississippi in the 1960s, The Help is a wonderfully told story about a young white women who decides to write a book about the treatment meted out to the black women who were often hired as Home Helps to rich white women.

At a time just before the Civil Rights Movement came into being, Kathryn Stockett has brought this book alive with real life characters and a factual historical setting. Gripping from page 1, The Help is a marvellous book that will keep you turning the pages (theoretically of course, seeing this is the ebook version), wanting to know what happens next.

Now being turned into a major Hollywood movie, read the book now.

The Help - Official Trailer

Heaven is For Real by Todd Burpo

#5 best selling ebook

Heaven is for Real is the amazing and heart-warming story of a little boy who "died" on the operating table for a short period of time.

Told by his father, Todd Burpo, a Nebraska pastor, it describes how young Colton amazed his family by telling them about his experiences while dead, from floating over the operating table to meeting God In Heaven.

He described meeting his grandfather, who had died years before Colton was even born, and describing him in sufficient details for his parents to be almost awestruck, because this little boy could not have known those things.

He also told his parents about meeting his sister, who had been stillborn and of whom Colton had known nothing.

Heaven is for real is inspirational and comforting to those who have recently lost loved ones, as it gives hope to an eternal meeting with those we have lost.

#6 best selling ebook

Never again will bedtimes be a battleground, as you will be laughing thinking about the scenarios in this excellent book by Adam Mansbach.

A fun read - but only for parents. Guaranteed not to be understood by parents to be, as you really have to have been there and experienced this to relate closely to Go The Fk to Sleep.

The Big 5-OH! by Sandra D Bricker

#7 best selling ebook

The Big 5-OH! is a laugh out loud summer fun read that will hook you in from page 1. A first novel by Sandra D Bricker, she introduces us to Olivia Wallace, who dreads her fast approaching 50th birthday.

On her 48th birthday she had been told be had ovarian cancer, and now almost 2 years later she was cancer-free, after having gone through chemotherapy.

#8 best selling ebook

In this latest Stephanie Plum offering by Janet Evanovich, Stephanie Plum, New Jersey bounty hunter, finds herself involved in a case involving bodies showing up on a disused building allotment.

She's had on off relationships with both ranger and Joe over the years, but n this book she sleeps with both men (though at different times). Many readers feel that the character of Stephanie Plum has not grown, and has in fact regressed.

That said, it would seem that Smokin' Seventeen is a significant improvement over Janet Evanovich's last two novels.

Before I Go to Sleep by S.J.Watson

Before I Go to Sleep by S.J.Watson

#9 best selling ebook

Before I Go to Sleep by S.J.Watson has a deeply disturbing concept that will certainly make you think.

In this book, a middle-aged woman wakes up every day with no recollection of the final 20 odd years of her life.

Thanks to a head injury years before, she suffers from a weird type of memory loss that kicks in every time she goes to sleep.

So she wakes up next to her husband, having no idea who he is, or what she is doing. Even her own facial reflection frightens her as she does not recognise herself, except for the eyes.

She has been keeping a diary, on which she has scrawled "Don't trust Ben". Ben is the name of her husband.

Read on as she tries to find out why she wrote this, and when, with the added handicap of having to start each day afresh with no memory from the day before.

Invariably described as "unputdownable", Before I Go to Sleep will draw you in and keep you gasping for more.

An excellent first novel by author S.J. Watson.

Good choices. I actually got the Big 5-OH for free from Amazon. I like how they sometimes offer them for free at first.

Amazon are 'selling' a lot of ebooks for free - people then only have to pay for the print version. Not much good to me then! There are some amazing books out these days!

It's not free any longer :)

I wonder how they can run out of stock of ebooks, as you can see from the empty Amazon capsules above?

That confuses me, because surely an ebook is just like a Word document that you download a copy of.

Maybe they have been temporarily withdrawn to correct errors or something. I wonder if those books offered free are unedited?

Acutually Amazon has been free for the last year. Been there and tried that

When do you think I'll be up there Izzy ?

I dropped the price of my E Books to $0.99 cents in an effort to try and attract some attention so you can imagine how I feel when I read about people who only read FREE Books on here !

Kinda makes authors feel worthless!

Glad you stopped by, Merlin. Good opportunity to let you know that several of your books have sold via Amazon.com, and also to let you know that I have the website topbestsellingbooks.com, which I am still building up and which you will get included in as and when. I would not drop the price of your ebook. It was not overpriced to start out with, as it is an excellent read. Many of the top authors do indeed find their books going for free for a limited time. no idea why.

Great list! In fact, one of them - Before I Go to Sleep - is on my fiance's wishlist and I am currently reading Andres Gross's Eyes Wide Open.

I think some ebooks have an agreement for so many copies, like a first print run. I'm just guessing.

Fascinating- of all of these, I have only read two (The Hunger Games and Go the F*ck to Sleep). I suppose I should have a look at the other ones, too!

I wish I had a Kindle, but I fear I would not be able to download the books in my country. So until then, I will just stick to print books myself. But what a fantastic concept...read about a book you fancy, then have it there and then in front of you, almost. Great!

ebooks are great thing, but a lot of torrent website are giving these away for free, its really unfair for the authors as this is killing the market for ebooks. Unless something is done about this, I don't think the future is that bright for ebook sellers. Thanks.

You are right that is unfair. I confess to preferring print books myself, but ebooks have really taken off despite the cheaters.

Great list. The Hunger Games trilogy are three of the best books I have read all year. I couldn't put them down and am really looking forward to seeing the film production!

I didn't find Jaycee Dugard's book that good and I know I am going to receive criticism for saying so. She really is an inspirational woman, and I wouldn't wish on anyone what happened to her; however I didn't find her book a very good read.

This is a great list of eBooks that people will enjoy. Thanks fo rtakking th etime to list them for us. I need to see the film of The Help and do a review.

I wonder if Dugsard's is self-published without an editor. That could explain it.

IzzyM profile image

IzzyM 5 years ago from UK Author

Thanks for that opinion of Jaycee Dugard's book - all to the good for people thinking of buying it, though perhaps people may still buy seeing as the money is going to a deserving cause. @Patty, I would love to see the film The Help, but no doubt it will be a while before it reaches my neck of the woods!

I know there are a lot of great ebooks by unknown authors, but it is still the print best sellers that dominate the ebook market, and yes there are some great books out there. Thanks for commenting :)
