Top Vampire Books - MUST READ

Vampire Books

I learned today that I have a fetish…with vampires!  I can admit it now!  I think I have read every vampire book ever written.  In fact, now that I have learned that about myself, I want other vampire addicts to know the best books I have read.  This is a good fetish, right?  Reading a book, then another book and then comparing the books until you find the books that you just want to read over and over?  Yep, first step to admitting you have a problem is to admit that you have one, which I do!  My addiction, fetish, issue, whatever it is, is with books.  Here are my top favorite vampire books:

Vampire Books - Top Reads!

Top 3 Vampire Books - The Series

  1. J.R. Ward “The Black Dagger Brotherhood” there are 9 books in total and you need to read them in order. They are skillfully written she is a marvelous writer that keeps her audience in suspense. She captures the hardcore, vicious yet surprisingly sweetness of each vampire in this series. These brotherhood brothers are most girls’ dream, tall, dark and handsome, they fight evil, they don’t kill humans, and they kill lesser! A mixed world of darkness, a beautiful story of love, a passion beyond your dreams, but most of all, you will not be able to stop reading these amazing books! Sweating and panting are optional when reading her books. Trust me; read them, they are incredible books!
  2. Charlaine Harris “True Blood' series is just staggering! 10 books in all and you have to read in order (of course!) The HBO TV Series follows closely to the books, which I watch the TV series but the books are so mind-boggling that you HAVE to read them one by one and in order. The modern day southern vampires in these books are unique, strong, delicious and picturesque. These vampires live within the community; they don’t eat but dine and talk like normal people. However, your imagination of a vampire is portrayed in these books (in a weird sort of way) and on the TV series. The vampires are violent, sadistic and cruel but the description of these vampires as the hunter is harsh. But their beauty and their sweetness of the vampires come through so romantically you can’t help but love these characters and/or books. The books are actually better then the TV show but I would recommend reading the books first then watch the shows. The delightful mix of humans and vampires with other sub species is strange yet exceptional!
  3. Stephenie Meyer “Twilight Saga” series is a total of 4 books that are just fantastic. Probably the most popular vampire series but seriously, have you read the books? She holds the audience with her innocence love that is sweetly written. The vampires are good vampires, but ohhhh are they so hot! The irreplaceable Edward Cullen is so yummy you can’t get enough! However, the books portray the raw feelings of each of the characters. The books for many ages and tells a beautiful story of boy meets girl, boy falls in love with the girl, then loses the girl. When I tell you that EVERYONE should read these books, I mean it, doesn’t matter the age, you will find the true unforgettable love story that is extremely well written. I can’t explain the extraordinary uniqueness of this writer but how Stephenie Meyers writes is one that captures your heart as you are reading and you can’t let it go. The old fashion love story that we all can’t resist. Take the time to read these books, they are that good!

Each writer has their own single way of writing, of providing different main characters, unusual scenes and uncanny plots but these books are magnificent!! Books are an escape and these series above will help you escape your life; provide a moment in time where your mind is transported into a life of fantasy, imagination and illusion. Enjoy this surreal life as you are teleporting to another time and another place because these authors have captured the light and they are continuing through mysteries journey’s that we all want to be a part of, to see through to the end. Life is a journey, each story teaches us something new, and these books with make you feel many emotions, good emotionshat will make your heart pump and your pulse race! They are that exciting!

I have never read any Vampire books, but I have watched the Bram Stoker's Dracula and Lestat and Blade, as well as a couple of other films. Oh, I did watch Moonlight on television.

I hear good reviews about Twilight Saga. Thank you for bringing J.R. Ward and Charlaine Harris to the picture.

I'm severely disappointed and disheartened that a literary classic like Dracula is not number one.

Garrett, how are you? I am sorry that you are disappointed, Dracula is wonderful but most people have read it, these are more modern books. Sorry for the confusion but I do appreciate the comment!

sabreblade, Anne Rice is very good, these are different and I do love christine Feehan, but not my personal top favorite as I mentioned above. But these are both great authors and story tellers, no doubt! Thanks for commenting!

Love, love, love reading vampire novels.... some new authors for me to look out for. I love the True blood series and the characters, I haven't read any of the books yet but if they are anything like the show they must be brilliant. Interview with a Vampire and Lestat is one of my all time favourites
