Relaxing Video

Waking at the early morning sun

I can hear the sounds

Of the cock fighters greeting the day

With annoying kikiriki.

A loud music played at the right

Loud firecrackers at the left

What should I say

That's how our neighbors greet the day.

Hearing the blast sound of the firecrackers

Angus running around

Into our bed he jumped

Seeking asylum with a scared big eyes.

O My, O My!

Poor little Angus

How will it be when Christmas day comes?

With those firecrackers

Flying here and everywhere.

What shall I do?

Shall I put ear plugs on his ears?

Just the way I do for myself

Or play Ramstein music in the stereo

Just like my hubby does?

Sitting on the porch at night

With a moonlight at the sky

Closing my eyes

Dreaming of a place

Thousands miles away.

Tranquility, tranquility

Peace, Quiet, Serenity

Where are you?

Tranquility I need you

Serenity, I need a holiday.

Note: Christmas starts in the Philippines on September and so are the noise of the firecrackers.

5 Years in the Philippines

It has been 5 years since I have written this poem about Angus experiencing the loudness of the neighborhood in the Philippines. As of now (Aug. 10, 2016), Angus has acclimatized being here in his adopted country. He has not return to Germany again in fear that we would lose him in between our flights. Angus knows how to bark now, thinking that this is the way his dog friends could show their present to the other dogs. Being our lovely dog, he is treated like a prince who is allowed to stay inside our house and is allowed to jump on our laps. Angus is still our beloved pet. Thanks God he is feeling well in this warm country Philippines.

...I absolutely adore this poetic piece of magnificence because it took me to a time and place 'foreign' to me - but the words were passionate and witty and oh so true and spontaneous - love this writing here and must post it with pride and joy to my Facebook page with a direct link back here ..... lake erie time ontario canada 6:45am

Thank you Movie Master for stopping by. Yes, poor Angus. He has really a lot of adjustment to do living in a warm country like Philippines. He will be fine as long as we are in his sight. Have a lovely weekend.

Poor Angus I hope he was not too scared over Christmas

Hi Rosemarie50!

Yes, Angus was so scared over Christmas and New Years Eve. He was with me together with our Askal(Filipino dog)in my bedroom hiding until the firecrackers ceased its' sounds. His heart was beating so fast that I thought he would be having a heart attack. At least my hugs helped him overcome the noise. Thanks for your stopping by.

So unfair for those poor dogs who find fireworks distressing. I feel for your Angus, you must be relieved when the cracking stops. It is lovely that the people celebrate so joyously, but too cruel for the puppies!! I love your photos, Thelma, Angus looks adorable, does he listen to the music? Your sunset image is divine!!! My votes and best wishes to you!

Yes, it was very unfair and cruel for the dogs. I was glad it was over then. I know now what to do for the next loud sounds in our surrounding in the Philippines. I just have to play a relaxing music that Angus like, in our room so he can not hear much of the firecracker noise. Yes, Angus listen to the music but not with headphone like the above photo. It was only having fun with him having headphone without music during picture taking.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great week!

A lovely poem to paint a picture in one's mind of what it is like in the Philippines at Christmas time! Loved it! Feel sorry for your little Angus, though. Did he finally get used to the noise?

Voted up and interesting. Will share!

Hi Au fait! Angus is now used to the noise but I still kept him in our bedroom with the music he loves, to lessen the noise of the firecrackers during Christmas and New Year eve´s time.
