Troubled Times

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

In the darkest corners of a mind,

lurks realities of life unknown in kind,

un-tethered hopes let unfulfilled,

drifting within a conscience stilled.

Jagged edges of thoughts dismayed,

in background taunting as life’s mistakes,

driven for presence and acknowledged will,

to face the shadows and deal with ills.

Like waves of grief in relentless strike,

circumstances marred and pursued dislike,

the comfort zone drawn from its nest,

into the realm of change behest.

From struggle the pain of redemption will,

the walls of rejection a tempest still,

to rise above and forward move,

transform a soul lost in a groove.

From darkest clouds of impending doom,

does rise the courage of a soul attuned,

to the lies of life we treat ourselves,

as the blinded faith of fancy realms.

To the truth we end our forced delay,

before stagnancy creates decay,

and find the path to wanted ends,

of life’s promise as love transcends.

Change is inevitable.

let go, and let God...a very powerful poem Tony...acceptance that there are things beyond us...so the best way is to surrender to His will...

PAINS are always part of our lives. But the most important thing we do is never surrender with it. Struggles and realities make us a better person and stronger one! Don't give up to what you want and always think positive in life.

Very great hub!

drifting within a conscience stilled.

I love this line and for me, this poem has some of that timeless sense--despite the fact that change is inevitable.

I am forced to acknowledge my burdens and release them. I wish there was a "real" tab. Very interesting.
