Ugly but beautiful with time

Things change

Everything is subject to change in this world. Some things change most dramatically like the caterpillar into a butterfly. And we have all heard about the ugly duckling who became the most beautiful swan.Being 52 I have seen many a young lady and man who were not so pretty as children but who grew up to be handsome adults.I can not remember when i wrote this down on paper.Seems like another one of those silly little things I did when I was in my 30's.

Once i saw a butterfly

of orange and yellow and green

The sun was shinning brightly

its wings they seemed to gleam

And this it did remind me

all is not as it seems

It was not very long ago

why it was just last fall

An ugly little caterpillar

did crawl and crawl and crawl
