Untill Our Very Last Breathe

I look at your hands and caress them

Looking beyond the creases as they condemn

As I hold your hand within mine

They wrap around, hold and entwine

From a young child to an elder life effect

Over the years age took place and came to collect

A life cycle that is inevitable to freeze

It passed along wanderlust like a breeze

An immortal state we were not granted

A family tree rooted and implanted

An everlasting life never promised

A life amongst the beautiful and calmest

Hardships and trials we sure did encounter

At times they served as a temporary downer

Nothing ever to deep for one to handle

Knowing one day the flicker would parish our life candle

Holding on to the memories and family created

Cherishing all that came with and elated

Nothing can describe the years of joy and tears

We held on tight when we were in fear

Only photographs that are taken with the camera eye

Will be carried forward till the day we die

Thinking of the day when our breathe will fade

Embracing it with open arms, not a day I would trade

Leaving behind the ones we dearly love most

No need to cry, celebrate our graduation with a toast

These tiny wrinkles will soon be gone

Giving the loving memory to nurture and move on

Please I ask for no tears to be shed

Remember the laughter and love we came to spread

Holding on within your beating hearts

To the love we shared right from our start

If you don't mind, I would like to make this poem stand for my grandparents I so cherished growing up. I know I should not weep too much, but in this regard, I miss them soooo much, and I could never write so beautiful a poem...

Awww I am so sorry bb, but I felt guilty my grandmother has been sick and I have been with her for several days helping her get back on her feet and I had no sitter this morning and I left my 4 year old it ate at me so I wrote this to release my guilt :( my mom has now picked him up but I was so mad at myself for doing that..... but no worries this poem may be taken by you :)

Acer, the realization of getting old has finally struck me upside the head I still have my grandmother and love her deeply I guee I also wrote it to remind me that one day she will leave me and I will have to move on without her near..... :(

bella, it is one of God's most precious gifts to share a bond of Love like you describe here. I truly believe with all my heart that death is not the end, and that kind of Love lives on...and one day you will be reunited with her...You describe that bond with such authentic feeling, it is impossible not to be moved!
