Upheaval, a Poem

Out By June

The Old Homestead sold.

take only what you can carry,

take only what's important;

Tell me, how do you take

chickadee upside down on

a highbush cranberry?

eerie winter sun

laying it's flat rays down

in the valley of frost?

Or how mouse ears of green

raises the heart in spring?

(It's a religious experience)

(Do not doubt it!)

Take a brush,

take a pen,

take a compass,

take a walk

in to the unknown.

Some clear path is not known...

Some place warm...

with history...

gentle waves...

Palms...

I won't loathe

a warm breeze..

even war horses

need pasture.

I think I need to be put out to pasture after reading this darling Lily. lol.

I have never read anyone here at the Hub who can put words together like you. It's like you've created a brand new language all of your own and the rest of us are on the sidelines trying to catch up.

I read this piece with my mouth open and my jaw dropped on the floor so I will pick up my jaw off the floor now and head off to bed here at lake erie time ontario canada 1:44am

You are my poetic lullaby tonight my Lily of luminous literature

Goodnight and sweet dreams from the 3 adoring Canadians - Colin, Little Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel

Thank you for this. I was broken since this stranger (my mother) brought me here. Now I don't even know I'm a war horse.

If you dare miss a Lilyfly, you are much the lesser for it.

I always enjoy reading your work, Lilyfly. My favorite line...."even war horses need pasture." Made me smile.

"even war horses need pasture," is one of my favorite lines in this piece as well. Lily, you are very much gifted with the use of words. Always a pleasure to go into your world of language.

Thank you Dallas writer; I do feel everything comes next, so that I must travel light. Where the heck is Hyphenbird again? Did she get a life? That would be the best of all scenarios... Thank you Colin, Mad, Will, Moon, Ynetsoh, I thank you deeply, but mistrust myself in answering. Just thanks, then, and much love, lily

I hear ya Lilyfly... that Hyphenbird has flown the coupe again and honestly, she is the busiest person I know for someone who has multiple jobs and tries to change the world. Perhaps she will fly back to Hubville soon! She is doing a lot for child abuse advocate groups, volunteer work, Working on her books and stories and then she works! Busy, busy bird....hahahahaha Hope you are having a wonderful evening and thank you so much for dropping me a note:) Be blessed sweet lady..
