WHAT IS THAT YOU CALL ME?
I Know You!
I'm your sister, your neighbor, your daughter.
You see me in the grocery store picking vegetables, buying milk and pampers. I'm the one who work across from you on the assembly line. I work in the cubicle next to yours at the unemployment office. Yes! I'm your neighbor.
My teacher calls to complain of loud talking in the classroom. "I don't think it's so loud. It's not my fault that the person I'm talking to sits in the back of the class." "My progress report says: Smart , Intelligent , Innovative ..," but ..., she allows others to push her button." Yeah right! What is that you call me?
"Daddy, why can't you believe me? the neighbors are lying. I am not loose and promiscuous. The teacher has it in for me, I am not that loud. Why do you always believe them, and not me? I am not a hoochie mama, I'm your daughter." What is that you call me?
You see me on Sunday morning sitting in the front pew wearing a dove white dress, below the knee of course, with the matching hat and purse. I'm the epitome of all that's good, waving my hands above my head praising the Lord. Yes! that's me. I'm the Sunday school teacher who chaperone the kids to the Amusement Park every year. I direct the youth choir, ........by day. What is that you call me?
Surely you don't believe the rumors you hear about me .... do you? They're all lies! I'm beyond that; I'm more than that. I'm your sister!
Yes ..., you are all that, and more. I know you. I've seen you before. In my youth I saw you coming down the street, in my neighborhood, looking from side to side, walking fast and stepping proud. Who were you looking for? I know you. I saw you on the bus, and at the mall, at Church and, at school. I know you.
