Lay waste the seas........

The ships that ply the sea pass
almost silently in the darkness
So too the language of the heart
unheard and unseen
One voice unspoken is
one too many
One heart unbroken
far and few between
And yet ....our seas roll on
to new horizons

Each heart a wave as each tide
another lost chance
they come and go at ease
One vessel lost is one too many
As each storm survived
becomes a gentle breeze

And yet our seas roll
on to new horizons

The skeletons of blue whales
lay waste the bed of
the sea
The remains of spent loves lie
encased softly within the
sands along the shore
But yet life goes on
and the sea knows far too much
As loves long forgotten
sink slowly away
to the depths
And yet.....our sea rolls on
to new horizons

Dude... you are awesome...

Pretty good for an idiot and a small mind... you know what I'm talking about... don't let those folks have their way because they know not what they do....

I love "the seas roll on to the horizon." Even while reading and digesting this piece, I could see and hear the seas, fog rolling in, distant thoughts, sun going down. This was really nicely done. Thank you.

Morning ahorseback.

As an old sea dog I just laid my head back closed my eyes and I could hear the waves rolling by. The smell of the sea salt and the fresh breeze on my face.

This hub brings back wonderful memories.

Thanks for sharing and take care.

Lovely poem, the cadence, the rhythm, of your words and lines produced the sensation of waves, or water swelling and then falling...quite wonderful. :)

My favorite lines:

"lie encased softly within the sands along the shore"

"and the sea knows far too much" (terrific line)
