Water to Life - Link to My Heart

Just as Water

Is the Link

To Life,

You

Are the Link

To my Heart.

Life without Water

Will diminish

To dust

As

A Heart without Love

Will diminish

The Soul.

As the water falls

To feed the fauna

Your laughter

And tenderness

Feeds

Me, Shauna.

Josh, you're my first responder. That makes you my hero!

Seriously, I appreciate your comment. Poetry is kind of where my love for writing took off. I have many, many more. I've been writing poetry since I was 19 and I'm 55 now, so you can imagine my repretoire! I intend to publish them, but until then, I want to share them with my very loving HP family.

Thanx, Fairy Godson. Love Ya!

P.S. I hope you get tagged soon for the Hubbers Tag saga!! I'm sure you'll add something totally off the wall!

Very beautiful my dear! You summed up all the feelings of love in a minimal amount of words. Excellent work!

Be thankful for what you and Bev share. You are truly blessed!

Simple, provocative and lovely. I find it interesting you use appropriately water to link life and love. Most people without even knowing seek the solace of water and nature to heal or ground themselves.

You're welcome to visit my versatile hubs as well...

Alur, thank you for seeing into my poem. I find Nature as my solace, whether it's the water, the music of the birds, the brush of the trees swaying in the wind..... Mother Nature provides us with a beautiful orchestra of soothing sounds, indeed!

I'll check you out. Thanx for the invite!

Thank you Aurey. I've not been as active as in the past, as I've spent the last couple of weeks moving and getting my life back in order. You should see more of me from here on out. Thanx for the vote!

You are talented in so many ways and poetry is one of them. This reminded me of an article I read where they proved babies who receive no love or physical contact will become sick. Just like water, the heart needs nourishment as well. You provide so much of it for us here at Hub.

Wonderful poem my friend.

Im, I am so honored you commented on this poem! It means the world to me. I have so many more. I'm not always sure which ones to post. Not sure if people can relate. My poetry comes at me like a soft scent of gardenia - strong but subtle. When I'm inspired I rush for my notebook or a napkin or whatever is handy at the time.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! Thank you!

Beckie, it's funny you brought up the babies thing. My son was brought into this world via mid-wife. Yeah, I'm a hippie. No drugs, no doctors, he was born in a birthing center (Victorian room - are you surprised??). Anyway, I went into labor but my water didn't break, so my midwife put me in a deep tub and that's where my water broke. I didn't even know it! I don't have an embarrasing tale to tell about my water breaking.

When I originally wrote this poem, it was about whomever I thought I was in love with at the time. Your recount, however, now will forever equate my sentiment to the birth of and everlasting love for my son.

Thank you my friend! Oh, how I love you!
