We Are All Family

I can not say enough

It was so nice to see everyone

How great it was

The weather was perfect

No rain or snow

In the 40's

Ho, ho, ho

Once again Jimmy and Pam shared their home

Under a beautiful tree we could sit

I was too busy eating crab rangoon

With a nice sweet sauce dip

Then I had to have a huge slice of calzone

Topped off with a delicious scoop of oreo cookie mousse

Things I love about today

We all brought a dish

Food lined the counter and the desserts stacked high

Nobody could just walk by without filling up their plate

Meatballs, stuffed shells, chicken , chicken wings, chicken broccoli and ziti and don't forget the chili

Cookies and more cookies

Chocolate pretzels, brownie bites

Spinach and the taco dip

To name just a few

Who knew if Santa would make it

We heard stories of an injuried shoulder not quite healed

His suit at the cleaners and his glasses were missing

At the last minute his suit was pressed and ready

He borrowed a pair of glasses and he looked really cool

Did you say Santa left his heavy black boots behind ?

Put on sneakers to be more comfortable and fast on his feet

Taking pictures and eating till our bellies pop

We caught up

On who is doing what and who is where

The older kids who were once us

A little bit bored

Found things to do

Playing with their cell phones kept them busy

Mingling and mixing with the football game on

We were having so much fun

Nobody noticed we forgot to have Christmas music

Our families started this tradition

When I was really small

All I knew then

Grabbing a door handle was a struggle

Now many years later my hair has turned gray

My eyes blurry

I still seen santa take not one but three chocolate chip cookies

When we heard the hooves

The little ones scattered

Santa's reindeer have landed

All our worries our forgotten

Santa made it this year

The children couldn't be happier

Most of all

For those who had to work and others who couldn't make it

We miss you

Thanks to all our parents who knew how important it was

To keep everyone together

We have many memories

Once there were so many kids

We had to find a different place

The V.F.W in Revere for years

With a man who wasn't to friendly

Reminded our parents more than once

No tacks on the walls

Thanks to both lovely families

Uncle Harold and Aunt Betty's

Uncle Arthur and Aunt Gerry's

Who made it all possible

Too many years to count

Keeping an old tradition

Having fun and seeing everyone we missed all year

Last year at Andy's new place we had a ball

Who could forget all the good food at V.F.W. in Salem

Glenn and Janice's was grand

Beverly's was a blast

I was eating a candy cane

Where did it go

It was just in my hand

One year was cancelled do to a Nor Easter

What a shame

Mr. bad weather was to blame

We all have to go back to our jobs, school and college
