We Will Meet Again, Dad

You left without saying goodbye,

I shed a tear

I began to cry.

When I heard the news, that you had passed away,

which saddened my life

from that very day.

Then when I saw you laid out

looking peaceful and serene,

I thought of the past – of the future

and what could have been.

As I now walk a path

where I have no place to hide,

But know deep in my heart

you will always be by my side.

I will miss all of our conversations

and pranks we have done,

I will miss that special bond

between a father and son.

So please rest assured dad

we will meet once again,

and I will love you for ever;

and ever till then.
