Weird Frustration

Silent watching...

hoping they don't see...

torn in thinking they might...

not wishing to hunt...

nature forbids leaving unsated...

would that they would fear the scent...

hoping the prey were wise enough to bolt...

yet graze they still...

nothing troubling willful repose...

grazing as though tomorrow were not in doubt...

salivating...

getting closer...

trying to be shadows all the while...

the Master beckons to wait...

doing all to postpone the day...

still nothing changes in the field...

the hunt is still on...

knowing as still as the still...

they will die...

they will die...

and in their death a cleansing of sorts...

those left over smarter still for the death...

more cautious...

more challenging...

the first kills, blood sacrifices...

to give wisdom to those who remain.

I hope many were able to bolt too. Interesting take. Haven't heard from you in a while, hope you will also drop by my neck of the woods...A very Healthy, Happy Christmas and New Year to you Jaggedfrost.

I'm not sure what this is about but I like it. Hunting, stalking things...

Malin, I hope so too, I have had many excuses but I am not sure which one to use or none of them. It is good to be back and I may take you up on that.

Doug, that is one of the wonderful things about poetry, I know the meaning and you are welcome to come back as often as you wish and realize that most of my most personal pieces are interconnected and attached to my soul. I do love red herrings so be careful.
