What Comes To Mind

Into your hands,

I commend my spirit
Into the wind,

my ashes blow
Into illusions,

I place my trust
Into the darkness,

I've been bestowed

On the twilight of self-torment
In recurrence of one’s fears
A nightmare swiftly ends it
Every time a dream appears

Angels boasting saving grace
A facade, remaining still
Peaceful light at tunnel’s end
Mislead again by His will

My inevitable surrender
My final plea, expelled
My life gives way to forfeit
My dying wish, withheld

~~~~
Familiarity with repetition
Is the reason why
Change remains unexpected
And high hopes remain
The opposite thereof
~~~~

Elevated rate of breathing
To match my state of mind

Behind rapid eye movement
Outside of the range and
The reaches of the real

Dreaming within dreams
How many times
Must my eyes open
Before I awake?

~~~~
Unceasingly multiplying,
We remain still divided.
~~~

Flawed only by sympathy,

Requiring nothing but empathy.

~~~~
While attempting to earn your wings,
You yourself may need saving.
~~~~

Actions silence the meaninglessness of speaking,

Retribution never grants itself freely.

~~~~
Self-inflicted punishment,
Atonement for naivety.
Wow. I was drowning in work lately and I missed so many days in Hubville. I am glad I am back =) Ben, your high quality rhyming is such a healing for my broken into pieces and scattered around mind! You are amazing. But I'm sure you know that already. But I say it anyways! Pure awesomeness.
Lovely as always, soon enough words will fail to define how wonderful your poems are.
Ben I know how time does not permit us to always be here to write and share with our fellow scribes. You must do what is first and foremost of importance to you, making a living is usually at the very top of the list.
We miss you, yet know that your heart and mind is still here at the Hubs. Thank you for sharing these words with us. I know the dark side and I am often taken into a cave of darkness for a spell, tortured and beaten down, yet revived by a constant angel who lifts me up and dusts me off and sets me back on my course to write.
I am back for another round or two. peace my young friend, bless you.
I love these poems! They are the sort of poems that I read slowly, several times, enjoying the meanings. I love this process. Thank you for sharing your writing.
lol...I don't have much A** sitting time lately. I write a lot of shorter stuff now, just randomly when I have a few minutes. I wrote the top one on my cell phone as a text message so I could remember it :P
Impossible to pick favorites among these lovely little bits. I know this stuff just falls out of you. I'm glad you scooped them up and put them here.
