What Is Hub Pages?
Personal Friends May be Wondering..
My friends may be wondering what I'm up to here at Hub Pages. If you wanna know the truth I think I have only about 6 really good friends and a couple dozen I don't bother to keep up with because I'm always writing some article as the spirit overtakes me.
And I just did something that was kinda hard. I used Hub Pages access to my private email list to email most everybody on my list, that I'm fresh here on Hub Pages, and aw gee, would you consent to being my fan, as well as my friend perhaps?
I'm a little embarrassed but if they really are understanding, they will see it is my way of keeping in touch with them, basically, that's my intentions so I hope they will help me get unembarrassed!
I'm thinking of this one particular friend who is not particularly puter savy who would be confused what Hub Pages is exactly. I don't consider myself puter savy either. Who does really? I've been on the net since 1999, pretty much daily, but I have difficulty keeping up with the changing times, and daily new tech stuff, and now we have Hub Pages! TA DA!
I will pretend I'm speaking to my friend, I'll call her Martha, as that name makes me think of a lady I knew who smiled alot and was a gentle soul. Everytime I think of Martha she will pick up this smile as a good feeling.
Well, Martha, Hub Pages has a lot of good writers. They don't just make a small post here, like we're used to. They make an entire article. They try to be thorough with their topic, to include even a link or two to further related material. Since the articles are so thorough we don't have to use the psychic senses to try and figure out what those short posts are really saying. This is my former experience with having been active on a conversation board for so long.
I slowly began to figure out that some of us are writers and some of us are readers. The short posts mean it's a reader. The long posts mean they are a writer.
It all works out in the end, as writers need readers, and readers would not have anything to read unless the writer wrote it down.
Ok, now that we got that all figured out, Martha, I really dig Hub Pages. I even found another writer here talks about the same stuff I do, practically the same words I would use. It was a pleasant discovery.
There seems to be a whole mini world here. A lot of forums, people talking, people being friendly, (imagine that!) people passing information about recipes, technology, internet money making, esoterics, philosophy, you name it, if somebody thought it up, somebody has a comment about it or article.
The internet brings us together; no doubt about that. Hub Pages uses Google AdSense, Amazon or Ebay ads, Kontera to generate income for their authors. Yes we are called authors, or even publishers by the Ad Companies. Imagine that.
As writers are public creatures, they publish their work. Writing is hard work sometimes. Other times it just flows out of you, if the desire to communicate is there.
Here as well if someone doesn't like what you write about, you have the option to delete or not publish a spam type of comment. I like that, as I'm the sensitive type.
Don't want to waste my time picking something to the bone when time is so short and there's so many fine authors to read here, you can pick and choose your company you wish to hang with. No need to fix anybody, or get fixed by anybody. That's why I like this place. It's self expression at it's finest. Don't like someone's hub? Pick another. You're sure to find something to your liking.
Well Martha, I'm off to the club. I have some friends there to join, to sing karaoke. I hope I explained about this new mini world adventure. We are the hub I suppose! We are the world!
I hope I explained what Hub Pages is a bit. If Not, I know that there are other articles that will explain it better. Thank you for reading! LR

A piece about our sexuality as a human race. It is primal and it's here to stay, but we can take it to a new level just by eye contact.
You meet some one online and feel you've known them before. Deja vu keeps knocking. To complicate matters they keep popping up from a dream where it's difficult to tell reality from fiction.
