What comes of passion

Standing at the rails of an old fence line
that once held a field of horses
now long gone
Broken and weathered the rails
lie misaligned
broken
The posts all but one lean into the
woods line or missing all together
curve to the sun
And I look towards the old barns
much the same
weathered
worn
worried
Then I begin to think about
the passions that must
have built
this kingdom
and like all kingdoms
doomed to this
When did it begin to turn away
much like a lover at
the first separation
of hours
Don't ask me why but
as I leave this
place
I think of passionate kissing
lovemaking and
orgasmic hours where nothing
interferes
These passions that blooms and
blossoms
and then wither
as in the autumn
Yet we know even passions may
lie dormant beneath the
surface of the late seasons
of the year
waiting............

Very nice comparison. I would not have thought to look at a fence in that way. Creative and well written.

Very intersecting parallels you draw between the image of laid foundations and relationship. I felt myself back home, looking out across the range. great piece, Ed.

They're still there Ed, you just have to bring them out with those magical words of yours. ;)

Interesting spin on how you went from a broken fence post to that of a broken relationship. Or withered and waiting passion to be flared again. : ) Well, at least that's what I took away from it. ; ) Voted it up, for sure!!
