I'm sorry Momma......

Why are we being punished momma
Is alone here ...where we belong
Who have I done something to?
why does love take so long

Once we were the angels..... the apple of all eyes
soft powdered and cooing
When did I become the burden
or the cause of your undoing

You should have known this would happen
life is not easy momma
And now ? You don't even speak
without anger pain or drama

And Daddy ? why isn't he here
who's he love more than me
Just yesterday he drove by our house
what did we do to set him free?

I sorrry if I did something wrong
I won't do that anymore
One day we'll all be happy again momma
just don't go out that door

Daddy said he'd pick us up and
go to the beach today
I guess we'll just stay here alone where
me and sissy always play

As we look around today , or into our own mirrors perhaps , we see people making the same mistakes over and over and over . Divorce , addictions , neglect , Just when do's a culture ever stop reinventing the wheels of failure ? How many children will fall by the way as collateral damage ?

Hi ahorseback.

Excellent and well written hub.

To your question about reinventing failures: As humans I don't think we ever will, sadly.

I am saddened by the reality of this poem's message. It is heartbreaking that children are the ones who suffer most from these situtations. When will we change?

Voted up and awesome. Such a sad and expressive poem. You are right people never learn families should first consider the children before tearing their world apart. Passing this on.

A touching poem Ed. Innocent little children are the victims of the rift between their parents and it is really annoying to think what they have done to suffer so. My heart goes out to such children.

Beautiful hub. Sharing it across. Cheers, Rema.

Dreamseeker , On all sides of this issue there are plus' and minus', some fathers are merely too self centered and to dependent on other things and your better of without hin ? You love those kids and they know it ! Thats what really matters ! Just saying ! .....thank you for sharing this !Be well !
