What does he know that you don't....

He knows me in a way
suppose this
and what has he seen ?
The highs and
the lows of mankind
The purity of wondrous hearts
and the darkest of evils
imaginable
Oh yes
he knows mankind
he understands the mixed emotions
misdirected
explosions of
violence
Orgasmic touches of
kindness

He has witnessed firsthand the
immensity of war torn limbs
and red soils
littering the battlefields
And the clover covered
heavens in a pastured
imprisonment
He has forfeited his literal heart
exploding in his chest
from slave labor
And he has felt the pulse of a woman's
heart directly
through her pelvis

Yes he has felt things that we will never
ever know and when he
turns his head away as you wish
to nuzzle
and bend to kiss his nose
Don't blame him at all
because
He knows things
that you do not

Hi Ed.

A very clever and well thought out hub.

The stories they could tell would break our hearts.

Awesome work and if you don't mind I'll share it with my friends in cyber-space.

LOL Ghaelach

I saw a commentary on the history channel about hunting wild horses who had run wild, never captured. It showed how man broke their spirit, little by little everyday. This is beautiful Ed..Loved it.

Beautiful, If we could only see the world through the eyes of an animal, what would we really see? That gives me something to think about!

Voted up and beautiful. Wonderful poem about horses. I love them.Back in the states I would go to fairs featuring horses. I remember one wonderful moment when I was stroking a velvety nose and we were eye to eye. I kissed his cheek and in turn he neighed and we were instant friends. This spring gotta go and take a look at some of the horse around here.

We watched War Horse awhile back and were touched at how the horse was exposed to so much human interaction and had to endure suffering as a result. Horses are intelligent creatures and are capable of becoming one with their owner. Your poem says all this and more!
