When Shall It Be (an inspirational poem)

Our choices today...will decide our world of tomorrow...
Our choices today...will decide our world of tomorrow...
A helping hand may span across the world...
A helping hand may span across the world...
Every new tomorrow may be made a better place in which we live when all do their parts.
Every new tomorrow may be made a better place in which we live when all do their parts.
When storms appear...strong hearts sustain the worst in stronger spirits...
When storms appear...strong hearts sustain the worst in stronger spirits...
A bright new beginning for each new day to lie before us each...
A bright new beginning for each new day to lie before us each...
Every man...equal, on God's green earth...
Every man...equal, on God's green earth...
By our spirits...hope and faith, we will be a success in this, our human race...
By our spirits...hope and faith, we will be a success in this, our human race...
In every face may be hidden a radiance, beyond compare...
In every face may be hidden a radiance, beyond compare...
Brighter days to await us all.
Brighter days to await us all.

Tell me when a man shall so love his fellow man,

Care for all his sisters and his brothers,

Will he understand, there's a common band...

That all were born the same, of precious mothers?

Every living thing, so much joy to bring,

To be honored, revered, in all its colors,

That everything invented, no matter its incentive...

Not just to be reserved by scholars?

When will a single word to mean so much,

As thousands of the same, do so touch,

Why can't all see, the likeness there is to be,

Respecting of each message, those to decree?

Should our world fall around us, walls to tumble down...

May we overcome...then ours to rise,

Never, our spirits to break...give into heartache,

As we each reach for the bluest of skies?

Does the soul of a being...represent what we're seeing,

Or just another common hollow face,

Do we treat each one as equal, not having a dishonored sequel...

Then to fall, in our own disgrace?

May we reach the summit, in our ascension,

Put aside each pretension, as the honest truth,

Rid ourselves of distrust, habits of disgust,

Make amends, leave behind the uncouth?

Might a bridge destroyed, ever to be rebuilt,

As strength in efforts, all do so well imply.

Does the goodness of a man, across the world to span,,,

This, never his humanity to deny?

As every man, so should, strive for the common good,

Showing love, to care, and the best to share,

New challenges, for us to come, we may accomplish every one...

our success, in great relief, to declare.

Whonu, this is as it should be. Will humanity remember we are brothers and sisters and work to bring the best out in each other? If we surround ourselves with like-minded people, the circle will grow. It may be idealistic of me to think so, but what is life without ideals?
