When You Give It Your All And You Still End Up Holding The Short End Of The Stick

 When we have tried and cried and almost died but are still here to tell the story

If we change the names and places we could have the next best seller

We have challanged ourselves and have pushed our bodies to extreme

No sorry or apology needed we have followed are hearts desires

Carefully looking at what we have done

We wouldn't of changed a thing except making things work out in the end

We didn't mind the struggle because we always new what we were after

Even though it might just be out of our grasp we never let go

Trying to pull in everything we know and love

I like to think it is like a Christmas gift that we never got to give

The person we wanted to share it with unexpectedly died

Somethings are beyond our control

We had the best intentions and unfortunately are timing was a little late

I constantly scale the walls looking for lost dreams

When I have one that I don't want to let go

I give it one more try

Sometimes I will put that dream on hold when all you can go is just so far

You have to pick up another dream and try to make it work

One will work in the end but until that day you have a hundred dreams astray

Like little kittens learning about life and enjoying their new home

Life is busy around them as they progress slowly to someday join in and make a difference

Each time trying but just not experienced enough to know enough

That day will come and it is just time that passes

People get older and life changes

Somethings and some events happen before we can have the power to change the outcomes

Life is this way for a reason

Many times not known until years later

It is like trying and trying with the practice book

Many losses and we take our lumps as they are given

Each time putting just as much effort and energy as before

Making things happen in our minds is not enough

We have to see the world accept our challange

Until that day we wait and try harder to make things develop

Focused on our successes that have led us this far

Working on solutions for all the problems we have at hand

Never losing sight of our goals and our dreams

Sooner or later you will hear someone scream

Either we have succeeded in what we have always wanted or God had other plans that we didn't know

He holds the Game book close

Still practicing and seeing is believing

I just have to change the channel so everyone can see what I see

I have to change the radio station so everyone can tune in what I hear

I know now and always have known this is where I want to be

I am playing with my best players and always on our guard

Looking for that fast break or that opening no one else did see

I have a vision that is clear as the sun in an open field where others play

I too play but with progress and success on my mind all the time
