When it's Time

When it's Time

Teeter on and watch the sun.
Totter back, you might be gone.
Morning, afternoon, and night,
Again, again, it’s alright.

There’s a time, when time stood still,
But it’s time that time must spill.
And black progresses to gray,
And smooth is weathered away.

New ones are out to explore,
And learn from the ones before,
A whole new world to sink in,
Meanwhile, eyes are getting dim.

Old adages are passed down,
As language, that lingers past dawn.
And grandma said to me when I was ten,
"Girl, love ‘em while you got ‘em."

Hollow might be tomorrow,
And I can’t escape the sorrow,
But until it comes, I know,
I’ll keep a face of basso.

Teeter on and watch the sun.
Totter back, you might be gone.
Morning, afternoon, and night,
Again, again, it’s alright.
