When Will A Man Be Too Old (limerick)

My old father wept and he whined

When he was to care home assigned

In disgust he loomed

And insults exhumed

Till cute nurses bloomed changed of mind

He's never too old to appreciate the delights of youth and beauty! The good thing is that they refocused his thoughts and reminded him of another more healthier and viral time. Voted up and funny.

Being that I am no 56 years old, I can appreciate this Hub. I hope to be as blessed when my kids commit me to the home.

A man is never too old. I saw an old man who was reputed to be unaware of his his surroundings, suddenly get excited at a picture of a woman in a bathing suit.

Short and sweet. Yes, even if he couldn't do anything about it, he at least had incentive to dream . . .

Up and shared! ;)

Ahhh, cute! Unlike females, men seldom think that they are washed up, too old, or ugly. They seem to have more self-esteem. Gray hair does not bother most of them. I like that kind of attitude. "Love yourself," I say.

This limerick reminds me of my grandfather who was simply torn when he was assigned to a nursing home. Very soon after he began to get caring attention from the nurses, he decided that he loved his new home. The family worked together to make sure that he had a daily visit from one or more of us. He finally decided that his new "place" was not bad after all. It is so important that those wonderful patriarchs are not neglected, abused, or lonely. Papa died happy enough at 94.

Thanks for sharing your limerick!

Men don't get old... age does... it's perhaps just the natural power of beauty (I mean cute!) lol.... it makes the heart pound to life.
