Where Do Lost Souls Go

Less than whole, this cup ain't full

Sunshine relinquishes to the moon's pull

To cross the bridge, you pay the toll

Where do you go when you've lost your soul

============================

Into the light, pull down the wool

Hangin' on the hope of bravado's bull

But twist and shout won't make thunder roll

Where do you go when you've lost your soul

==================================

Just a small space neath the sun and the moon

Where a planted seed is born to bloom

Nourished to thrive or relinquished to coal

Where do you go when you've lost your soul

==================================

Potion, voodoo, favor served on a silver spoon

Aligning the stars that compose signature's tune

The march of a drum beat to destiny's pole

Where do you go when you've lost your soul

==================================

And in the end, no path is immune

to the final frontier, a new phase of attune

Where equality lives with surrendered control

And eternity has space for every lost soul

================================

Voted up and beautiful. The poem was a lovely read from beginning to end and glad to hear eternity has room for every lost soul. Love the video too.

Awww, Gypsy, thank you for your words. I find it so inhumane, as I watch the news of the homeless being extricated from a tent city provided by a local minister and it makes me wonder where you go with less than zero. City officials are planning on ousting them from another patch of ground provided by the same minister. Appears they are too unsightly for others to be exposed to. Tourism takes priority in the summer months. I don't hear anything in the bitter cold, when those "without" still live in those same tents. I understand that the economy has impacted everyone, but I would venture a guess that the same group of people existing with nothing were locked in the same degree of poverty when times were good. No one wants to think that circumstances can knock anyone of us into a hole that is impossible to crawl out of alone. Platitudes make no difference in lives devastated by physical or mental illness, those without family or friends to lend a hand, addictions or mistakes that make second chances hard to come by. Thank you for understanding. I knew you would.

Awww, thank you, Will! I am always happy to see your handsome face. I need to check what I've missed in your neck of the woods, as my notifications are sporatically sketchy.

Wow Amy! I loved this...especially the last phrase as it gives hope to those lost souls that are treated so unfairly and without kindness or understanding. They should be treated thus, here, each and every day. Up and way beyond, dear friend. :-)

I hope that you don't mind, I shared this on my Face book page. Wonderful work and matched perfectly with the song - one of my very favorites and full of old memories. Never give up on your quest to right the wrongs of this world by making people think!

Yes I've often asked myself that question. I truly believe all souls continue on their journey. I know and feel that I am from the past and will cross over once more as the thin vale opens for me and my soul is set free to revisit and start down the path again.

Somehow we just don't get it right, so we keep holding on to the path, our destiny wherever that really is? Right now I'm on earth, where my soul goes next will be an adventure to look forward to. Hugs, beautiful question and always expressed so well in your magnificent words. Hugs.

For me, Vincent, just getting through each day is a challenge. I don't want to contemplate the thought of yet another life. Not to say, it's not the way. It just feels exhausting to ponder. I'll save that idea for another day. But, it could be eternity...as no human can ever live life perfectly. Now, you've done it, Ken, and got me thinking again! Hugs
