Where blue sky turns to black.................cowboy poetry
I sat there for an hour or so listening to the
old man talk on and on
he talked about the old days and old people
he talked about mom
And then as the sky turned to golden
and dusky night arrived
his talking became a bit out there
between confused and slightly contrived
"I had me one of them dreams last night
I had died and moved on
I flew away and out into the night where the blue
sky becomes the dawn"
"Somethin' inside told me though I wasn't a goin'
to come back
You see I'd moved on to where the blue
sky beyond turns to black"
"Now I knowed it and God does too I ain't done the
best in this life
but lord let me fly on through this darkness
till I can be beside my wife"
Now I don't know it cause I aint' never been far myself
out where the sky loses track
Yet I know that he and the love of his life
are out where the blue sky turns black
