Where we're sitting now.......

You came here again my friend and I wonder
what are you trying to say
You're sitting where my imagination
often whiles these hours away

Are you telling me about the river
was there poison in the water
Or the taste of the food you
love ....it really does matter

Saw you the other day below
feeding at the waters edge
And it made me want to
commit to you one ever lasting pledge

No more poisons in the river
nor smoke from a thousand fires
No fool turned lose with a shotgun
nor whining ...screeching tires

I promise you only the sunshine
and glittering river below
I give to you in abundance
that yours should live and grow

Show me your youthful poise
those stellar wings on high
And I will promise you the future
until the day I die

Absolutely Beautiful ahorseback. You did it again! I have a favorite fishing spot where I can catch trout and I'll sit for hours just watching the Eagles. They make you feel 'Free' don't they.

Sarra ! Yes they sure do , and wonder , and watch too ! It makes we want to get active in saving them ! For just a few years now in Vermont and New Hampshire , we are seeing these beautiful creatures return to our river valleys ! And pine ridges ! I hope you have a perfect weekend ! Thank you for stopping !.....Ed

As I was reading this I remembered back to a hike on Thursday and how my hair stood on end and I got goosebumps all over. It was that long cry in the air above me, as an eagle pronounced his dominance over some hawks. Thank you for this poem. I sure love these birds.

This is a great reflective piece sensitive to the trials and travails of our environment. Your commitment to the environment and God's creatures is clear in your writing. The photo of the eagle is great.

There is something special about a red tailed hawk Gerry ! I love even the lowly turkey vulture ! The raven and once I saw a snow owl sitting on a branch above a dirt road ! Nice to see you my man !
