Whispers in the wind........

But then the next breeze ruffles the bows
of the tall white pines
Sifting through the moments of
whats left .... I'm indifferent to time
A haunting whisper blew in on a soft
summer breeze
Yet I was not quite listening
as
I dozed for long moments
in the quiet cool shade
As the golden mists of july
edged into evening
The winds lulled me to sleep
And I thought
"I have so much to do "
And yet my surrender came without
pride no
I'm trapped
into the sounds of the wind
through the screens
and wind chimes
And then
I reached without
looking and pulled the
navajo blanket over
my shoulders

A lot to do, yet the quiet, gentle wind whispers to you. Lulls you, in to sleep. Love this poem.

Voted up.

I could picture this person sleeping in the wind. It is sometimes comforting to hear the wind as you describe in the poem. Enjoyed the read.

Whispers in the breeze can be quite soothing. Enjoy the lullaby under the comfort of your blanket. Voted up and awesome

Reading it as a poetic idyll; of a night wind's lullaby, it has charm. Yet there are many lines and words if considered metaphors changes the poem's meaning and evoke a different feeling in me. "Sifting through the moments of whats left...I'm indifferent to time", "And yet my surrender came without pride..." Old age?:) and when shall I pull the Navajo blanket over my shoulders...for that eternal sleep.

Couldn't give this poem a fair reading because it was impossible to get past the lazy punctuation.

The egg ! Maybe its your lazy attitude towards writing and reading others attempts at speaking in black and white , either way .........Up yours!

You did not address my criticism. This poem is riddled with punctuation issues, no?

I don't have to "address" your critique .......Your being a punctuation cop just inspires me to say........Bite me !

Egg ! Obviously you belong on craigs list- rants and raves or somewhere other than a writers community ! Perhaps on the Hub forums where you can take up your childish rants with like minded E- critics . Face it !........you are a ginner !Have a nice day !

A ginner is a fool who iis just against everything ! Are you a "forer" or a "ginner" ? . Why don't you get some counciling ? You seem a bit jaded .......who do you blame that on, every one else?

I really like this one. There is something about wind...that speaks to me, that speaks to many of us. There was a sudden shift in tone and focus when you arrive at the blanket reference, but it was perfect. :)
