"Who Else? (Ahora Quien?) Now Who?"

"Nothing Left, But What Could Have Been"

This is the bed I have made and now I must lie in it
My lips quivering as tears run down my cheek
I knew from the beginning
This was wrong
But I was desperate and weak
I should have known better
Than to expect anything from you
Just one disappointment after the other
So what else is new
But I still feel my heart skip a beat
Whenever I see your name
And I just wish it was you
Who was texting me today.
But I guess ill never get to hold those hands
I'll never get to kiss those lips again
You've had your fill of me
And say you don't mind just being friends.
So I guess ill never get to see those eyes
Or rub my hands through your hair
No not again this is the bed I've made
This bed of despair.
It was over before it ever began
I'm no stranger to things like that.
But I'm so tired of playing the waiting game
I'm so sick of this crap.
Giving myself to someone who doesn't deserve it
Getting attached
Then deserted
Who would have ever thought that you'd go and break my heart too.
I know it wasn't love
But I could have fallen in love with you...
Now I'm left with no choice
But to give up and give in
Move on and let go
There's nothing left but what could have been..

"Someone Else"

I guess you can always find someone else to text everyday.
I guess you can always find someone else to kiss...
I guess you can always find someone else to call beautiful.
I guess you can always find someone else to miss...

I guess you can find someone else who cares enough
to want to spend more time with you
I guess you can find someone else
that you would actually want to.

I guess it doesn't matter that I'm right here.
I guess that you don't care.
I guess you can find someone else to Fuck
Or run her fingers through your hair.

I guess that you don't think of me
And someone else can fill your mind.
I guess you won't be falling in love with me
When someone else is just so easy to find...

Nikki:

I am flattered and touched that my work inspired your hub.

All three poems are wonderful, heart-felt, and are a reflection of you and your feelings. The images are also part of the beauty, but I especially loved the first one, I don't know why, maybe because I think black and white offer more contrast and in emotion it corresponds to is a dance, a heart-break, still danced together with the understanding that it is over.

My own interpretation, of course.

Yes, there is always another bus coming.

Yes, there is always another man/woman just around the corner and you'll be able to see him/her as soon as you let "the current" one go.

And in tango, a beautiful picture, a woman standing all on her own against the wall, a yellow (!) wall (I usually say "Yellow is the colour of insanity", but in fact it is such a happy colour)

the point is she is on her own

what I remember from our classes - our teacher would make us practice steps and say -

"Yes, I understand it is hard to do them on your own, but that is how we practice. First on our own, then in pairs".

So, let it be your practicing steps. It could have been a beautiful dance, yet the partner was not for you.

And you have written poems to let it go, yet to remember and share the feelings.

I think it is a beautiful hub and I am happy to be here first.

I thought that this song (never mind the article, it is not article, it is a portrait of a mood)

you might like it, if not - no harm done

you can go straight to the song

there are not always men, but there is always music

I like your interpretation of the photo Kallini. That could be exactly it. Perhaps they were once lovers, but so many times "once lovers" is all it becomes. They become "Somebody That I Used to Know" Love this song.

I do believe I am finally letting go and from now on I am just going to have fun and not worry about anyone else. I need to get out there more and meet more people. Practice makes perfect right? and yes there isn't always the right partner, but the music keeps playing. Thanks for reading and commenting, Kallini and Micheal. That's the beauty of writing...letting it all out.

I loved the song - an eternal story and I loved the clip.

Nikki this is a stunning mix of really great poetry. I loved them all. The first one is so unusual and some of them are quite musical or lyrical.

As long as you are out there and having fun and enjoying life, that is the main thing. Life is what happens when you are busy doing other things, according to John Lennon.

Have a sweet day, Nikki. :)

Had to make a few changes :) the lyrics caused my hub to be unpublished because of duplication so i made a link to them and posted a video of the song.
