Who Freakin' Knows

Source

Solo project beyond

Revision or repair

Of flaws with indecision

Haunting the shores

Of heartbroken beaches

Mirror glazed, sun burnt

Skin and ignition

Takes place within

Misfiring cylinders under

The hood of my chest

Diagnosis is required

To understand what

We’re dealing with

Lest I should fall

Into despair and

Never return from

The place of my loss

Two-faced

Bipolar, broken

Who I am

Mother nature attempting

To thrive amidst a highway

Of mans’ contagious making

The trees and breathing creatures

Die, as we endlessly take

From them, from the earth

For ourselves, to feed our guts

For our comfort

Comfortable deaths

Asphalt reigns over

The animal kingdom and

Our empire grows steady

The planet is weary of

Our blasphemous ways

I hope that we’re ready

Our judgment to face

Pulling aside the linens

That deprive my eyes

Of luscious images

Unveiling, revealing

The sumptuous flesh

My instincts are craving

Taking in the full effect

Savoring the reaction

My heart rate gives me

Her eyes seek mine

And thus find them

She asks without speaking

The smirk which dances

Across her lovely face

Knowing fully my intentions

Dripping sweetly

With sensuous poisons

And perfumes awaken senses

Instilling the wildest suggestions

Injecting into us, ideas

So beautifully animal-like

Humanity never felt

So deeply, so inhuman

My mind has never welcomed

With open arms, such rashness

Until her request was placed

In our garden we lay

Her, my Eve. I, her Adam

Returning to dust

From whence we came

Genesis, reenacted

Remade

A beautiful day

Or so it was said

Sunshine to warm

A heart, subzero

Empty void

Stunning abyss

Her soul whispered

To me softly

As the sun beat down

Retched rays

Shaded in black

Relentless, on my back

The coldest of burns

Frostbitten skin

Crawling at her image

I entered the eclipse

And my sanity left

Through the nearest exit

Clearly marked for convenience

So that no warm thought

Could ever be lost within

.... intense and powerful - and again, a sparse and economic use of words which makes your written art stark, clear and austere.

What beautiful writes. I especially like the one about how we are killing the planet. The line about "comfortable deaths" eludes to such truth. Our unending gluttony for resources, our destruction and desecration of our environment will, in the end, become our own destruction.

Hey Ben. I like the third one most, I think I've been in that kind of sensual mood all day. The first two have me rethinking life and where it all started and where it will end.

Thanks for you ever beautiful poetry.

qudsia thank you VERY much :] that means a lot!!

I wrote all these at work, that's what's kinda funny to me. I was riding in a truck, and all these things just came to mind. Weird how inspiration works
