Why I write..a Revelation..by Whonunuwho

words to describe such beauty
words to describe such beauty
words of moodiness shared

words, metaphorical or true essences to reveal
words, metaphorical or true essences to reveal
words so airy and from wide open spaces
words so airy and from wide open spaces
words to reveal a storm's near approach
words to reveal a storm's near approach
a serene evening paints its portrait in the distance.
a serene evening paints its portrait in the distance.

As in most writer's list of reasons to write,

mine are numerous, as my words take flight.

A message may be sent in one poignant word,

uplifting to some, to be read and not heard.

Not as some empty log, rolled down a long hill,

poetic words can be of value, and a void to fill.

Brightening one someone's loneliness and fears,

To stand as a lighthouse, a sentinel, for dears.

Words may express our deepest fond strengths,

show what we feel, without going to such lengths.

A powerful script written upon the blank page,

Words full of glory, or a displaying one's rage.

A discussion of vital issues, a statement of society,

an unveiling of falseness, a revealing of sweet purity.

A chance in the sharing of someone's past lives,

a written testimonial, showing how our love thrives.

A mincing of reality, a blending with serendipity,

feelings once on hold, laid out, in a readability.

"Writer's Block" is never a description I reserve,

It is how I display with every sinew and nerve.

I agree with every line in this poem! The freedom in your words reminds me of the release I feel on nights when I have to stay up writing because I cannot sleep...it's amazing.

I also listed my reasons in poetry. Your expressions are much more lofty. Thanks for sharing.

There is always something out there to write about. One just must harness that inner voice that will jab the mind with an idea. Well done.

Brilliant and it brought back a memory to me of a day when I couldn't find anything to write about so I ended up writing a humorous poem about 'writers block' ;hence end of 'writers block'.

A great read and voted up.

Eddy.
