The Delete Key Ruined My Life!!!

The delete key ruined my life

-- I SAY --

With solemn, turkey gravy eyes

And butterscotch cheeks.

As I sit behind my desk

Deleting all the words

That don’t reflect what I meant

 -- To SAY --

It occurs to me that there is

No delete key for the parts

Of my life that I don’t like

and I've been fooling myself

all along by using this distortion

of untrue reality.

Now, I’m just learning

The jump of the space bar

And the enter key

Even if the delete key

Doesn’t exist in reality

I have to believe in the space bar

Because I’m forever putting

Distance between who I was

And who I want to be.

Still, I say to all who listen

-- the delete key ruined my life!

It's funny, for years and years I refused to touch a computer. I guess I knew that I had the most super addictive personality in the history of super addiction and personality disorders.

But all along, my life's computer was on, it was just in "stand by" mode.
