Within the Walls

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Within the walls of my castle,

I am at ease with the world,

its incessant humming,

beyond my windows,

my sight and out of mind.

I am me within my confine,

the person I see in reflection,

not any social creature

striving for conventions

not of my making.

Here, in the noise of family,

it is silence for my mind,

familiar and warm,

comforting.

Here I work, write,

love and connect

to my cyber world.

Here in the absence of mask

I flourish within,

swallow knowledge

and squeeze my truths from marrow.

In the silence of my heart,

I dig deeper into my souls,

discovering

my blissful purpose

and the meaning of my loves,

my souls entwined.

In my castle

I am blind to trivia,

focused on life

and restoring my child within.

I am at peace.

i like it so much the concept of castle and its comparison with your self that is marvelous.the imagery you use is really marvelous and i think sometimes really to create a master piece like this really needs a castle and needs to care like a child.keep on writing like this.
