This is my second hub containing the remaining elements, FIRE and EARTH. My first one, AIR and WATER, is partnered to this.

Also, please note that I wrote these with Greek mythology in mind.

Again, please click play on the video above each poem, before you begin to read it. The music, paired with the writing, is the way I wanted this to be viewed. Thank you :]

The Alchemy Index - FIRE

An ice age...

Melts away...

Scarlet rage...

Here to stay...

Arsonist’s accomplice,

         designed only to spread

     created with malice,

filling urns with the dead

Hypnotically, dancing

          A feast for the eyes

     Bewitching, entrancing

Illuminates skies

Trees laid to waste

          Reducing forest to ash

    Consuming with haste

Erasing life, with a flash

Rivaled by water,

          Unremorsefully blazing

    Hades, its father

Uncontrolled, never aging

Heating…

     Lighting…

Feeding…

      Igniting…

The Alchemy Index - EARTH

Ashes from fire

Dust of the Earth

...

...

...

Roots growing, confiding

    Men formed from the dust

Atop ATLAS, residing

    Back broken and crushed

    Beneath our steps, waiting

Unmoving throughout time

    Plates sometimes colliding

Within GAIA’S design

Holding graves of deceased

    Residence for men passed

Their life force is released

    Peaceful souls are amassed

    Softened by the sea

Immune to the flame

    Underneath our feet

The earth will remain

You captured the mesmerizing beauty and uncontrollable adrenaline of fire! So on the money. The nurturing coziness of earth, Mmmmmm. Me likey. I'd love to "see" you do this as a live read with the music in the background... I'm sure I'm not alone.

Nellie, you clearly absorbed every bit of my intentions for these.

EVERYTHING I was hoping to convey, was exactly what you said

If other people receive it that way, my job is done

Thank you SO SO much, you made my night

Oh, yes - you should be happy with it. It really FEELS right in every way. That Fire music is incredible. Not just some ordinary crackling sound as one might expect, like twigs burning, it has the sense of a huge fire unleashed and uncontrolled. And your words capture all the power, heat and intensity of the element.

The Earth one is as good in its sort of earthy, abiding, nurturing, keeping spirit and the music for it is good, as well. I like the simpler verses for Earth, with their more comfortable rhyming pattern. Effective. Fitting the form to the subject is something you do very well. Your coverage of all the elements is truly inspired, Ben. I'm very impressed with it.

Congrats on the 50th landmark! You'll have no problem reaching the next one.

Mentalist - thank you again sir

Seen - I agree the music for fire is incredible, as if it ignites suddenly

and yes, I feel like they all fell together almost perfectly

My biggest project yet, and I'm very happy with it, THANK YOU :]

The beginning of the first video sounds like the alarm I used to hear coming from the Fire Station when we lived closer to it. Combined with the poem, it's pure disaster, but ya know, in a good way lol

As for the second poem, I've always been intrigued by Greek and Roman mythology and it works fantastically here in Earth xD Lovely
