Writing With Conviction

From sun up to sunset

I am writing.

For the squares,

trying to fit that "inner" circle.

An uphill battle in which the victory

is void.

Time and time again,

I write.

Expecting to see change at a glance,

whether it be fate or chance.

I write.

Flying by the seat of my pants,

smiling all the while.

Eyes squinted in excitement,

I write.

To make order out of chaos,

there is hope.

As long as I keep writing.

Even if my hands are tied,

straining against the meanest knot

with both thumbs taped to the side.

A suicide note that reads,

PLEASE HELP ME!!

THE SICKNESS IS REAL....

I like the poem. The rhythm is really good but the quote is great! Can I use it in my class? I am compiling a list of quotes to help inspire teens to write. I will give you full credit of course. Great piece!
