Year Three
I've Made It
How It Started
I had published the first book in my Macy McVannel series and my publisher thought I needed exposure. A friend had mentioned hubpages as a place to make money while writing. So, I looked into it and began writing article about places I had visited. I had all the photos to go along with the articles.
Then I took on the subject near and dear to my heart, writing. I've written about writing. I've written about starting my own publishing company. I keep writing because it's what I do.
I enjoy hubpage writing as it is a break from the fiction mines. It is real stuff. Things made up from life experiences. I hope as readers you find something you can take away.
Hubs are Magic
There's Magic in a Hub
Whether you are writing to give information or to entertain, hubs are magic. You can travel in a hub. Go someplace you've never been. You can read poetry and take imaginary travels. Hubs have anything you might be looking for.
Looking for business information, it's here. Looking for an escape, it's here. I've seen recipes, travel, poems, essays, and informational articles. You just have to let your mind go. Hop some hubs and see what's there. Answer a question or two if you can. Interact with hub writers. I for one will respond to you.
Hubs are meant to intice and evoke thought and discussion. At least mine are. I am hoping you've found others who do the same. Even a bad comment is better than no comment.
Dream
I'm Going to Make a Fortune
I believed I could make tons of money writing hubs. It's not happened. I've found out it doesn't matter. Whether I make $20 or $220, doesn't make my writing better or worse. I write because it's what I do. The money is secondary. I have stories to tell so I've become a novelist. I've also written short stories and a children's book. Fairy tales no less. On hubpages I can tackle real world issues, travel, writing and anything else which comes to mind.
I've promoted my books on hubpages. Maybe I've even picked up a reader or two. If one person benefits from a hub I've written, then I've accomplished all I set out to do. If you read one of my hubs and are still thinking about it hours later, I've accomplished something. If you read one of my hubs and say 'Meh," then I need to work on it.
Thanks, Hubpages, for giving me a forum. Thanks for letting me write about the things near and dear to me. Thank you for letting me express myself. I hope we have a long relationship.
This is year three. Let's see if I can write more often in 2015. The best is still to come. I'll find new inspirations as I'm relocating this year. New places to explore.
