You Must Be The One

It seems like every three weeks I’m ready for you
I come on and get you to admit you like me
But then I let the things I’m working on get in the way
You must be the one
‘Cause you haven’t told me where to go

There’s few people I hang with after I say “how ya’ doin?”
I keep saying it’s me but that seems so cliché
I just can’t think about another person in my thoughts
You must be the one
‘Cause you haven’t said I told you so

There was a time when it was us
But it was over before the sun even set
We couldn’t get it together enough to have a memory
Except there’s something I can’t forget

I wonder why I don’t just let you tell me I snore too loud
Or listen to you say you want to go dancing tonight
I haven’t given a moment to anyone in so long
You must be the one
‘Cause you’re the only one I seem to know

I can’t figure on being anything worth all that
You got your dreams and see me only at night
I can’t live up to something that you live for
Maybe I think of you as some sort of Snow White

There was a time when it was us
But it was over before the sun even set
We couldn’t get it together enough to have a memory
Except for that something I can’t forget

The surburban poet; if time and destiny has given you a chance then avail all that which you did not pursue before. Good luck!
