You have a strong name
Limitless, defined by you
You choose what it means

Like a lovely bow
Decorating a package
It hides gifts inside

We're given a name
To begin our journey with
To bend to our will

The name knows no bad
No failure and no limits
It waits for your choice

Prepared for the best
It follows you faithfully
Never turning its back

Yes I chose your name
And the lessons I taught you
But you chose your path

Nothing defines you
Every choice helps to form you
Always room for change

Hear this and be strong
Happiness and Peace are keys
All else are just traps

You have a strong name
Limitless, defined by you
Yes, only you chose.

I do love Haiku but even more so when a number are put together to form a longer story. I have 3 that I have done similar. 1- Childish vs Adultish. 2- Divided. 3- Heaven vs Hell. The latter is my personal fav. I would appreciate your comments on these if you could make the time. I do love your haiku and give a huge thumbs up to this lovely work. Up and Beautiful................................. Chris

I like this little collection of Haikus based solely on giving a name.. and it's funny because the name you give stays with you beyond life.. look at the grave markers.. the names stay long after you're gone.. love this group of writings Moms :)

Debbie, you have earned your right to be sure of yourself. Go ahead and break your limits.

I am so grateful that others enjoy my writing in a way that I can't even begin to explain but when I am writing and posting, I almost forget that others will be judging it soon. So it doesn't not influence my choices.

What lovely haikus for your daughter. She will always be able to hold onto what you have written for her, lifting her and carrying her through whatever may come her way. What a wonderful gift to your daughter from her very gifted mother.

I would rather say, 'Happiness and composition are keys ...', for the peace directs toward death, the ultimate peace.

Moms-Secret profile image

Moms-Secret 3 years ago from Central Florida Author

You are right Rambansai, only to me death is not peace. It is just stillness. Stillness of breath and life. I will not know if it is peace for a soul until it is my turn but we can obtain happiness, composition, and peace in life. If this is the case, if we do carry intangibles with us when we die, we can come close to ensuring peace.

newenglandsun 3 years ago

What is her name? Sorry for the curiosity.

Moms-Secret profile image

Moms-Secret 3 years ago from Central Florida Author

The curiosity does not bother me. Her name is Kennedy.

newenglandsun 3 years ago

I looked up the meaning of both your names.

Lissette means "God's promise" or "God is my oath".

Kennedy apparently means "helmet headed" or "ugly headed" but "helmet headed" sounds so much better way to describe your daughter. She's tough, not ugly.

My name means "God is my judge". Continuing on my full name, "God is my judge, twin, bright renown".

Hello Daniel... It seems like a lot of pressure to be a promise. Thankfully, I do not really feel pressure. I am sure I am not a promise tho except maybe to my daughter.

I am not too impressed with the definitions for hers that you found but someone gave me a mug that I liked that says that her name is of unique origin and means 'a powerful river'. I am sticking to that.

My entire name translated means Queen of the Lilies. It figures that I would have a river, a water source to call home that gives me life. :)

newenglandsun 2 years ago

I looked it up. It's the French spelling of Elizabeth.

http://www.behindthename.com/name/lisette/comments

Elizabeth which ultimately means...

http://www.sheknows.com/baby-names/name/elizabeth

http://www.sheknows.com/baby-names/name/lissette

Nothing about a "queen of lilies".

And the name Kennedy...

http://www.sheknows.com/baby-names/name/kennedy

There is a Kennedy River. And Lily is a lovely nickname for Lissette so that may be where the confusion came.
