A Guy - A Poem By S

I met a guy who had just gotten laid off from his job

I guess it doesn't matter which corporation because they're all the same

He got fired just before the holidays

When he had bills to pay

And all they had to say

Was too bad

It's all your fault

Anyways, he lost his job, his girlfriend, and his car

He couldn't even afford to go drink in a bar

To wash the misery away

This poem is for him

And every poor shmo

Who ever was left

With no place to go

And nobody who would have

Compassion or care

As if he was never there

At least until that man is you.

Your poem speaks for countless men and women who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. Corporations are greedy. Money is top priority..Well done..

Thank you Always Exploring for your comment on corporations. I feel the same way. I think that business has lost it's integrity in America. Thank you for the support, too.

Hi PDXKaraokeGuy, I'm sorry I haven't responded back to you sooner. My heart goes out to you for having had to deal with that. Nobody should have to deal with so many difficulties all at once. I hope things are better for you now. -S.
