First off, I have to say that I don't think there's an "easy" way to write a book. That's something that will vary from person to person. Some people can jump right in and finish a novel in a few months. Others need a few years to get it done. Some need to follow an outline, and some like to just make it all up as they go. To the extent of my knowledge, however, there's no step-by-step formula for writing a novel. Everyone has their own methods. It's just a matter of finding what works best for you.
Second, I've been trying to get something published for a while now. Can't lie, it's a lot of work. And it's frustrating. I've dealt with quite a bit of rejection, and I'm sure there's more to come. I've been trying to find an agent, though, in hopes that he or she can help me get my work out there via a publishing house. Self-publishing is an option, but for my own reasons, I'm trying the agent route first. You might want to do a little research and take a look at the pros and cons of finding agents / publishers vs. self-publishing and decide which one you want to go with once you have your book written. That's my take on it, at least.
