   Can we use our own Hubs to create Ebooks for commercial distribution, or is this duplicate content?
   
   I've always wondered about this, as I would think every writer's dream would be to "write a book". But what would Google say? The formats would probably be very different, and the wording would also show variations, but probably coincide in parts.

   Everything you write for hubpages is your content. You have the right to do whatever you want with it.
   
   Hubpages should be the beginning of a writing career, not the end of it. Ebooks seem the natural progression and from there onto print books.
   
   If hubpages decides it's duplicate content then you have to decide which is better: an  ebook or a hub.

   I have used stuff that I have published on HP, and added some other stuff, and published my first (Possible my last, but I hope not) eBook and already have sold seven "copies".  Not a lot, but certainly more than I got on HP, and a lot more fun - and a lot more work.
   As someone else has said, the hubs you have are your own, and there are somre "rules" on HP that you cannot publish something published on line, but eBooks aren't on line, are they?Go  to my hub, if you like and at the bottom of my profile is a link for my eBook.

   As far as I can determine, Hub Pages' rules about 'duplicate content' apply only to what is published and publicly available online at no charge.
   
   An e-book is not openly available to the public at large on any website--it must be purchased through a retailer of such products. Even if the charge is very low, it is still not available for anyone to see online.  They must order and pay for the book for download.
   
   That would seem to indicate that the e-book is not duplicating your Hub Pages content in a way that would run afoul of the rules here.

   As others have pointed out the copyright is yours and the duplicate content rule applies only to content published and publically available online.
   
   However, if you were going to sell the same content in an ebook that someone could otherwise read for free by visiting hubpages, then you would need to think of the ethical and professional implications.
   
   What I mean is, you could get a very poor reputation making some folk pay for what they could (had you told them) get without paying!
   
   So, yes, go ahead but I would strongly advise that you remove from hubpages those hubs which you wish to sell in your ebook, first.
   
   Otherwise, you could end up shooting yourself in the foot, as they say.
