If you could get your writing noticed by one person, who would it be?
On rare occasions, I fancy getting an email from a sitcom asking me if they could use some of my material or better yet, a job offer. Do you every daydream of getting "noticed?" And if so, by who? (no need to tell me I'm nutz, my husband tells me that daily).
Harper Lee....if she appreciated my writing then I'd know I had some talent.
Oprah Winfrey. She has the power to share my writing with the entire world!
Aam a big fan of Nicholos sparks novels, which always have a take home lesson. Would love to get his feedback
Ellen DeGeneres! With her fan base and around the globe admirers I'd surely have my voice heard. Second place would be Danielle Steel, since it's because of her I acquired the love of writing. Third place would be a shout-out from Keith Urban for the many hubs I've written in his honor. In fourth place would be meeting Casey Anthony for coffee so we could discuss the hubs I wrote about her trial. She could then tell me the truth about Caylee and I've share it. In fifth place would be TT. One outta five ain't bad! Yeehaw!
I have one person for each type of writing.
Poetry - Rita Dove, former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner
Essays - Charles Krauthammer, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist
Fiction - Dean Koontz, my favorite novelist
To be read by one of these would be a huge honor. I don't even care if they tore it apart with harsh, demoralizing critique. The goal is to be read by them.
I wasn't looking to be noticed, but my writing was noticed yesterday.
I received an e-mail from a man who is producing a documentary about a famous actress. He read my article about being an opera supernumerary (extra) and wanted to ask me some questions about the process. The actress apparently had been an opera super, and he wanted to portray the experience accurately.
I did some research online, and there really is a documentary in the works about the actress.
That is awesome, Daisy! Congratulations and well deserved. You will have to keep us updated on when the documentary will be out.
I am quite new on HP, but his is probably the best example I have heard so far, about how an exchange of views on Hubpages can lead to something bigger. Needless to say, this is extremely positive.
That's an easy question. It would have to be Chuck Lorre, who I've contacted about getting a story of mine on one of his vanity cards. However he's a very hard headed person, and he doesn't want to share his vanity cards with anyone. No wonder Charlie Sheen didn't get along with him.
Stephen King. If he liked my writing, I'd be over the moon!
I would have to say George R.R. Martin because I am a hug admirer of his work and take great influence of what he's done in the fantasy genre
U ARE NOT NUTZ !!!!!! Welcome to my world of living with the " quirks" and trust me society hands me everyday(,on a platter) which is where I get my inspiration for writing AND it's cheaper than a Therapist !!!...
I would love for Ellen De Generes to notice my writings..I have thought for a long we are on the same wave length..humor heals us when we deal with various situations/stages in our life..hers being her sexuality that she kept hidden...and mine choosing to live outside the box of life..questioning everything and not accepting words like can't,won't,shouldn't, impossible..etc....I am often criticized for seeing humor in almost every aspect of life...but..I stay true to myself.
This was a great question, thanks for allowing me to share....
Sitcom? You should be in charge of a cable TV network. TT TV. That is my million dollar gift to you.
Seriously, I would like a couple of hubs to me made into a series or movie. Candidates: Conquistador, Drakes Drum, How to Keep up with a Nymph, and the Narcissus play that I co wrote with some hubbers here.
You should be the new Reba, except with guns, ATV's, and excursions to Walmarts of the world...
Chetan Bhagat would be my choice if I had a chance to get noticed. He is my inspiration. Would be a great day if it happens at all....
What genre does Chetan Bhagat write in, Invincible?
He is an avid fiction writer. check out this link to know more about him.. http://www.chetanbhagat.com/
I know this isn't the answer you're looking for but....you definitely should be noticed! Your writing is hilarious and is the gift that keeps on giving. Now, to answer your question...anyone who could make me a better writer (rich and famous would be nice too).
Dave Barry! The king of humor writing. He's my hero. (Cape and everything...) Of course, I would hope I wouldn't end up in the "how NOT to write a humor article" section of his writings....
Hallmark!
I'd love to see one (or more!) of my Christmas stories on the Hallmark Channel!
The Dutch Prime Minister. Or his wife. Or the Queen of the Netherlands. But not a dutch Queen.
Let's say Terry Gross of NPR's "Fresh Air"--and the rest would be history.
Without a doubt: Billy Collins. His style and vision for modern poetry as being something which should be for everyone and relevant to daily, modern life instead of somehting which exists in a dustry white towers has been rather influential upon me.

I apologize, but it seems a "Best" answer was chosen on my question when I did not choose it. I hope the HP Team can help me or someone can inform me why that happened! I noticed it via my phone and I knew that I did not choose an answer and I was not going to do so any time...

Since joining HubPages a good while ago now my writing has been a therapy from heart-breaking issues in my life.Today I know and feel that I am healing since my daughter Erin's passing but not just this I have grown as a person and a writer.I understand myself / I know who I am and my self...

Why is it that people insist on taking over someone else's question, or hub, for their own soapbox?Lately I've noticed several questions, and even the occasional hub, where several people answer the question, and one person (not the author either) take over and tell people they are wrong and why,...

Where is the best place to start getting paid as a freelance creative writer? What is the site that offers the best compensation to publish fictional short stories.

Has anyone else noticed that HP now places photos on your questions that you did not place?I noticed last night that the questions I asked and did not upload a photo to go along with the question, that HP placed a strange unrelated photo on each question. Does that mean HP prefers that all of...
