After I became an active hubber last November, my facebooking time dropped way down, and hubtivity became my main excuse for spending time doing other than getting my hubs written. I have not solved that problem. There are many interesting hubs, and I like reading them and responding to them. It has helped to give myself a daily minimum number of hours to work on my unpublished hubs and another minimum time to revise published hubs before I can do hubtivity.
I make an exception for meals. I often do hubtivity during meal breaks (like now during a bedtime snack). Such breakfasts, lunches, and snacks tend to go on for a long time, which is not good news for my too fat tummy or for my productivity.

That anonymous quote is in the procrastination chapter of WHAT'S YOUR SABOTAGE? by Cornyn-Selby. She says that procrastination is a message from a part of you that wants something. Procrastination is learned behavior. It gets results. Figure out what's wanted and provided that some way other than procrastination. The drama of a last minute rush? Get more action in your life. Rebellion against pressures to do what you don't want to do? Just say no and choose not to do it. Nothing short of perfection is good enough? A job not done is imperfect. Getting it done imperfectly is better than not doing it. Only do what feels good? Consider the consequences. Going out in the drizzle to close your car windows may not feel good but letting the coming downpour drench you car interior won't bring pleasant feelings either.
The book PLAYING BALL ON RUNNING WATER by Reynolds says the cure for procrastination is to live in the moment AND to do what your intuition says your task is in and at that moment.
So I just answered a hub question and did not get the dishes washed or the day's shopping put away or any emails answered. Accomplishment or procrastination?
