The answer would very much depend on your genre preference,
Fantasy = Game of Thrones by George RR Martin
Science Fiction = Citizen of the Galaxy by Robert A Heinlein
Murder = Along came a spider by James Patterson
General Fiction = Bad Luck and trouble by Lee Childs
Non Fiction = Voyage On the Beagle by Charles Darwin
Horror = Salems Lot by Stephen King
Romance = Dark Rivers of the heart by Dean R Koontz ( Not sure if you consider this a romance novel )
Western = Bendingo by Louis Lamour

Its actually really hard for me to choose, I like so many authors and books, but when I am traveling I like something that is a little fast moving.and pretty much all of these books fit the bill.

It feels very good when one provides a thorough reply like yours.  I have been thinking about reading Game of Thrones for quite some time now. Thank you for your response!

Anything that you enjoy. Usually, I bring a homely romance novel and two educational books. One is always psychology, the other is probably a self-help book of some sort.

Yes, that's perfectly reasonable. We should read what we enjoy reading. But at times, I am at a loss and feel the need of someone pointing me towards the right thing.

I know exactly what you mean. Standing in front of an overfilled bookshelf can be overwhelming.

Any Shakespearean work such as "Cleopatra and Antony" or "Hamlet"...

"Beowulf" or any other epic stories....

...and maybe even some of Edgar Allen Poe's lengthy works.

The time you'll have to bide in travel will allow you the time and food for thought that these works offer. That is, of course, if you like these types of work.
