   i love, love, love JO from Little Women.
   Not afraid to love, not afraid of speaking her mind.
   Holding out for Love.
   Dutiful to her sisters, and pursue her writing even though it took her a while to get it
   "right"
   In the end she turned out as a heroine.
   I like how she stood up to her great- aunt but still her aunt left her the house.
   She did what she thought was right no matter what society thought.
   And she forgave Amy for burning her work.
   I always wanted to be a tom-boy too

   Probably Rachel Codman Mayford, a character in both novels in The Locket Saga: When God Turned HIs Head and Soldiers Don't Cry. Rachel seems to always know what is going on and yet, she always keeps her feelings close. She's never the center of attention, but she always seems to be there if you need her.

   Laura Ingalls Wilder. I realize that she was also a real person, but she was a teacher and a writer, two things that I am as well...and her books meant a great deal to me as a child. She never quite "fit" the mold so to speak....I like that about her.

   Tom Joad of John Steinbecks, The Grapes of Wrath. My family were immigrants to California from Oklahoma, so i knew the term, "Okie" well, and because we were raised poor I understand Joad's endeavor to survive and make a better life for his family.

   Evelyn Couch, from Fried Green Tomatoes, by Fannie Flagg.
   She evolves throughout the story to become a strong, self assured woman who knew exactly what she wanted, how to get it, and was determined to see through her plans to fruition.
   See seems to mirror my life pretty much. Obstacles have come and obstacles have gone but I have evolved like she did and keep on keeping on.
