If you self-publish on-line, what on-line publishing company do you use?

I am currently using Amazon Createspace for 'in print' versions, having also tried lulu.com.  For e-books I am using kdp and smashwords. I have also published on kobo.  So far I am happy with Createspace then producing a kindle version but wonder what other options are out there.

I've not used smashwords.  I use Createspace for both e-books and print.  I also use Lulu.com because it's been super easy to get my stuff onto iBooks.

There are many self publishing hubs out there that will meet your every need as a self publish author. However if I could recommend one that I use and also refer my clients to "Create space" they are reputable and are a subsidiary of Amazon.

They also offer true marketing packages that I have seen help other Authors gain necessary expose to be able to reach thousands of there targeted population.

I hope this answers your questions:)

I have always been quite happy with the in print and ebook/kdp through Amazon, I always thought their 'package deals' were a little pricey but I suppose if I sell lots of books it will soon cover the cost.  Thanks for the information.

The sad thing is do not expect a mass amount of sales unless you are willing to do the marketing work. It takes a lot of time and effort to be successful in your books sales. Do an excessive amount of research and never settle with one or two ideas.

Thank you for the advice, its true haven't had many sales of my books but then I havent really put much effort into promoting them.  Many people promote on facebook but I am not entirely sure that facebook is a good promoting platform, do you think?

So far I've got three books live on amazon KDP in my RAVENFEAST series. To back them up in 'solid format' I've got three books in the same series through New Generation because there are still a lot out there who prefer to have a book in their hands - which can also be autographed and a bookmark provided.
Amazon does have a service to produce a Kindle book in 3D, but as some of the documents I've added - map, glossary and historical notes - are 'unsupported' they couldn't be uploaded to Kindle format. That's where New Generation come in, they also produce book marks, postcards and smaller a 'business' card. I haven't used any other form, but then writing these Hub-pages and producing copy for my books doesn't leave much time for experiment on top of daily life etc. I'm supposed to be retired, after all...

I have used Author House, but that takes a lot of upfront money. Lulu.com is one I've looked into which can print as few as 1 of a title or as many as you need. They are more per book, but all proceeds go to you and not to a third party. I also have made my own e-books with one of MANY free e-book makers. An e-book may be the way to earn some money for print books later.

Whatever your goal, you have a lot of low cost options.

Ah but which one would you settle on as being the best value?

I use Book Baby for my ebook distribution. It has up front costs, but of all the self publishing services I've seen, they distribute to the most partners. (including amazon, barnes and noble, and itunes). I haven't tried physical copies yet, but I'm happy with how the ebook side of things are going.
