    Anyone ever publish with Lulu.com?

If so, what was your experience?  I understand they'll let you publish a book for free, but if you want them to edit and promote your book, you need to pay up to $213 for a full package deal.  I have lousy promotion skills and few contacts, so I'm considering this.  If you've published through this, or any other self-promotion company, please tell your experience here!  (I'm considering going the e-book route.)

My novel was published free on lulu when I entered for the NaNo contest in November 2013. I've never promoted my book there
    Thanks

Thanks for answering.  Did your book sell?  If so, how?

I have published with LuLu, and smash words, but any writer will tell you, that you must be active in marketing your own book.  eBooks are an excellent place to start.  The first thing to do is write the book.  Then rewrite it.  Have someone else read and discuss it with them, then rewrite it again.  Leave it alone for a week, and then reread it.  If you like and would buy it then get it published.

Read JA Kornrath's blog on publishing.  Then read Smashwords book marketing guide, it is a free eBook.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the info!  I know Lulu.com will publish your ebook for free, and for a few hundred dollars, will promote it.  I'm wondering if it's worth paying the money.

That is a question for users of Lulu at the Lulu forum, join and see what they say.
